| I apologize for not commenting back to people commenting here lately, but between "season of broke" activities, RL, and a fic-a-thon commitment I totally spaced on, I've been slightly overwhelmed. [The "season of broke," as I not-so-fondly call it, tends to run from mid-April to mid-June, and again from mid-November to mid-January. The season of broke tends to be the areas where all major holidays, family celebrations, and unexpected expenses tend to crop up.] For those of you wondering, yes, I will finish posting the following stories very soon: The goal is to get these finished over the next month (and I do apologize for the delay). Part of it is that when I post a part, it takes me roughly 2 hours to do so, mostly because of formatting and final read-throughs pre- and post-posting of a part. Also, for whatever reason, "cutting and pasting" from any kind of word processing program into Firefox means that the blasted formatting won't hold. Let's not even get into the mess IE makes of anything I cut and paste into that interface. I think the phrase, "It el suck-os the big weiner-o" is not out of line here. In the meantime, I've got two other things to get out:
- The annual
lynnevitational fic-a-thon
- A soopah-sekrit project which I can't say anything about right now (this one is on-going and won't be out soon)
My lynnevitational entry should be...ummmm...different. For me. It's something I've been kicking around for two years, but I've been hella nervous about throwing it out there. I suspect that someone, somewhere is going to be hella insulted by it and the premise, so I expect there might be some wank if I put it out. That means I'll be needing eyes. I most especially need Brit- and Spike-pickers. I desperately need you. I also need someone who's willing to read a story that is told from the point of view of someone who is, ummm, a little slow. Mentally. See, that's the potentially wank-tastic part. I need someone who's got a good sense of where the line is between good writing, bad writing, clichéd writing, and insulting writing. Looking at it from my (admittedly) limited PoV, it reads okay to me. It might not be okay for someone who lives with the issue every day. If there are any volunteers (remember, I especially need Brit- and Spike-pickers), just reply here with a way for me to get in touch with you. All responses to this post are being screened to maintain privacy. I will get back to everyone who responds. Now Playing: |

| Today was MarcsMom's Unbirthday (yesterday being her Birthday), so I ended up hanging around the ol' homestead for a bit. By the time I scraped the thin ice off my car, dodged people driving either at 90 mph or 15 mph on the highways, and made it home, I was mentally exhausted and not up for another round of playing dodge-'em with people who've forgotten how to drive when it's cold and raining. This is a unique New England thing, I think. People tend to "forget" how to drive in snow and ice in between winters. While the roads aren't icey (yet), people were driving in crazy ways. Thanks to the unseasonably warm winter weather, I don't think anyone has their winter "driving legs," hence the chaos I encountered at several points on- and off- the highways. So, there went my plans for the day. (Note to self: Email apologies.) I come home to comments on the part of this story I posted Friday night. Some people want to see Kennedy. *looks around shifty eyed* What? *hangs head* I am weak like veal. Written for the Dark Xander Fic-A-Thon. All previous parts here. | Meet my New Year's resolution: finishing some WiPs. To that end, I'm posting at least one part to at least one WiP a week. I was hoping to have the next part of Facing the Heart in Darkness ready to go, but it's still a mess. Instead, I give you the next part of Nobody Never Gets to Heaven. Written for the Dark Xander Fic-A-Thon. All previous parts here. Continued from Part 2.

| Holy cow! I didn't realize that I never transfered this particular fic to LJ. This is another one that was put up on the Pit of Voles a few months before Buffy went off the air. ( A Little Intro for Into the Desert )For some reason, don't ask me why, but the original title for this story was The Intramural Street Hockey League and Goomba Society. Don't ask me. I have no clue what it means, either. I'm sure it made sense at the time. Because of the story's thorough Jossing, at some point I changed the description from "spec" to AU, complete with a one-sentence description on why the world of Into the Desert was different from canon. Title: Into the DesertAuthor: Lizbeth Marcs liz_marcsRating: PG-13 for language, some sexual situations. Pairings: B/OC; W/X. References to B/A, B/S, X/An, W/T. Hints of B/W/X. Genre: Future fic, mystery, ghost story, character angst Warnings: Character death(s). Spoilers for S7, up to “Dirty Girls.” Beyond that, it’s AU for the end of BtVS. Summary: Buffy begins the task of starting her life over and rebuilding the Watchers Council without her two best friends at her side. (AU) AU Element: What if Angel only brought himself and not the amulet to the final battle against the First Evil in “Chosen?” Disclaimer: Xander Harris, Spike, Buffy Summers, Willow Rosenberg, Rupert Giles, and all associated characters and organizations are the property of FOX and Mutant Enemy. Any mention of real life events and real people are done to serve the story and are not meant to imply that the incidents in question have any relationship to reality. All original characters and the plot are mine. No payment was asked for or received in the writing of this story and no profit was earned. | Didn't get a chance to work on Facing the Heart in Darkness, but since nwhepcat asked to see what happens when Spike, Faith, and Xander hit Vegas, I had to kind of comply. I mean, it's actually done and everything. Yes, I'm blaming nwhepcat. Shut up. Written for the Dark Xander Fic-A-Thon. All previous parts here. Continued from Part 1. - Tags:character: buffy, character: ensemble, character: faith, character: kennedy, character: oc, character: spike, character: willow, character: xander, fanfiction: 2006, fanfiction: buffy the vampire slayer, fanfiction: fic-a-thon, fanfiction: nobody never gets to heaven
