Photo Project: January 1, 2009
Idea shamelessly stolen from
kurukami:
My strange project for 2009 is to take one picture a day of the exact same scene. Why? To track the day-to-day (and season-to-season) changes that occur over the period of a year.
I know there's going to be one or two breaks consisting of several days at a time in the next year due to personal travel. BUT, baring serious injury or illness, I'm going to try to upload a picture a day.
Then I figure at the end of every month, I'll put up a slideshow showing the change over time for that month. Then, at the end of the year, one big slideshow.
Wish me luck on this weird experiment!

And the Times Square project sounds pretty cool.

It was a very neat use of the whole immortality thing. I think the series is on hulu.com, I'm going to have to watch it again.

Actually, it'll be interesting to see the changes over time.

I've actually been meaning to do something like that for 3 years now, but have been to lazy/undisciplined to take a picture everyday! (Although, I did take a pic yesterday, so maybe I can play along, too...).
Happy New Year & good luck with the photo project

Good luck with the project.
Eirik Solheim did this in 2005 and again last year, and turned the result into a 40-second video. The result is pretty and haunting. (1 million hits on YouTube and counting...)
Re: Good luck with the project.
And suddenly my effort looks strangely poor as a result. :-(
Still going to do it, because I have to admit that I'm curious about what I'll see at the end of the year.
