Hooray! Where you can find me besides LJ

I am now liz_marcs on JournalFen, thanks to System offering to rename people en masse if you leave a comment at the link. I suspect this offer is the result of a lot of people signing up with JournalFen due to LJ/6A going weird on us.

Yayness! Now I can crosspost without Semagic freezing up on me.

Aside from LJ (where I'm pre-paid until July 2008), you can find me at:

  • liz_marcs at InsaneJournal. I'm planning to be more a lot active here than I have been in the past and I do plan to slowly make this my main journal.

  • liz_marcs at GreatestJournal. This journal is mostly back-up for LJ and IJ in case both go down for whatever reason. I'm not planning to be too terribly active here.

  • liz_marcs at JournalFen. This journal is primarily going to be to back up my fanfiction and other fanish posts. Not so much the rest of it.

Hurrah! *wipes brow*

I've just started an insanejournal account - surprisingly, I'm ffutures there too - and have friended you. I think that between LJ, GJ, and IJ my blogging future will probably continue somehow...

Don't know journalfen, is it especially useful for fanfic people?

The issue with JF is that it doesn't allow under-18. And just about every single proposal I've seen for a fannish-only site has ended up coming around to that same stance (which, really not surprising if you're going to allow explicit porn).

People also have issues with JF because it runs off a really old version of LJ and is somewhat limited in its way. Also, it hosts Fandom_Wank, which quite a few people hate with the fire of a thousand fire-y nuns armed with rulers and a big ol' frown.

I'd say it's a useful journal-style storage space for fanfic and fannish activities, and the owners are committed to protecting fannish interests, so you're less likely to be ToS'd over there. It's far less useful for non-fannish activities, I think.

The problem is, you need an invite code for a free account these days. I got my free account the last time the opened the servers for their 24 hours "mad period" that they hold occasionally (it was 2 years ago). There is a community over there where you can request invite codes from paying journal holders (because I'm free, I don't have an invite code to give) — but I don't know the name of the community or how to find it.
