Snowing, headache, and an LJ question...

It is now officially the snowiest day in the history of Boston. It's been snowing all day, which means we have more than 40 inches of snow on the ground. I can't even see around the drifts. *unh*

I've also been struggling with the headache from hell yesterday and today. *double ugh* I think I'm coming down with a flu-like thing, but it's hard to tell.

Finally, LJ question...

Is there a limit on how many friends LJ lets you have?

I ask because I just did a mass friending and had a slight hysterical heart-attack. Eeeep! No wonder why I'm having a hard time keeping up with people. The other thing is that I almost never do friends-only posts, so I'm wondering if there's a way to solve my reading the FList overload problem without insulting anyone.

Must go nurse head now...

I wouldn't take it as an insult if you trimmed me. I friended you because mara_sho kept talking about you so I'd thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. I never expected to be friended in return. So no offence would be taken if you decided to trim me from your F/list.

I'm also a curious old bat, though. I like hearing about different parts of the country/world, so there is that. :-)

I'm not planning on unfriending right now, but I probably have to look at breaking people off into groups so I can at least peruse entries in bite sizes.

I can't speak for anyone else, as a newbie and mostly silent lurker who mainly wanted a LJ identity so I could comment periodically on fiction I find noteworthy. As one who friends the folks whose writing (fiction and/or daily commentary) I enjoy reading in order that I won't miss anything new by them, I personally don't expect or need to be friended back. So, in my case, at least, trim away if LJ limits you! (I'm sure I'm one of many who just recently discovered your work via a su_herald rec and friended you as a tribute to your fiction. It would be asking a bit much for you to suddenly start reading all of our journals. I'd just take our friending you as the compliment it is.)

But I like friending people back, mostly because I've virtually met some interesting people. I'm nosy like that. :-)

Although you can categorize friends so that you can tackle the FList in bite sizes. That may be something I'll have to do.

Take care of that head. Also, I'm pretty much in cindershadow's boat. I don't mind if you don't friend me back -- I try to keep track of fandom writers that I like by friending their journals. So feel free to friend or not, it's entirely up to you :)

There isn't anything in the FAQ whatsoever about it, but I remember someone (rahirah if my memory serves me correctly) saying that she had reached the limit at 350 and wasn't able to add any more.

Why not create a filter called "Reading List"? This allows anyone who wants to read your locked posts to do so, but doesn't obligate you to read their posts on your flist. Personally, I have five different filters, for days when I have different amounts of time to read and want to make sure I get my closest friends.

Feel better soon! I've forgotten what it's like to deal with snow, esp. 40 freaking inches of it! BTW, thanks to you, my husband is now walking around the house saying, "The.. delicious... uh... kitty... is not here... right now.... He... uh... went on a... business... trip."
