Pimp, pimp, pimp...New LJ Faith Community

People looking for Part 12 of Water Hold Me Down, go here.

A little pimp for the Faith writers out there: [livejournal.com profile] facets_of_faith has started as a fanfic community focused on Faith, including Faith alone, Faith in ships, and Faith in...well, you get the idea.

It's all Faith all the time. *heh*

Me? I'm psyched there's a new community out there where I can post Ishmael Sings of the White Whale, besides on my own LJ.

Small community, but it just started yesterday. Think we can get it higher than 100 by the end of the week?

According to LJ mistress [livejournal.com profile] empressvesica all Faith fics are welcome. Don't forget to read the rules here and then sign up for the fun.

You know, it would help if some F/Xers out there joined in the fun. I know we're a little bit of a reticent group...*heh*

I know there's a million fics I want to rec, but I'm sneaking this in at work. (small voice: sorry guys) and I just wanted to pimp the new community. I'll be busy for the next couple of days...so be kind.

Ishmael

((pets story fondly))

Does it make any sense that even though YOU wrote it, I still think of it, somehow, in some weird, whack, dim, misty but undeniable sense, as "mine", because I liked it so much?

No, v probably not.

Actually, it *is* yours. I would've never written it if it wasn't for you. It's such an "odd duck" story for me that I've been unable to find it a proper home outside my LJ, although I'm hoping to get it on Silverlake and a few other sites in the next couple of months.

When you think about, you got a custom story.

((maybe when we're both famous writers, we should do a panel on cooperative writing or something))

Heh. minemineMINEMINEminemine. ((realizes she sounds like Daffy Duck))

When you think about, you got a custom story.

And you were cool enough to write it, to go outside your "usual style or Faith story" and do such a bang-up job of it -- you should be really proud of that, I think. (I loved the Wesley ghost, and the Faith voice, and the Ishmael reference, and the end, and how she called Angel on his big plan BS. I loved it slobberingly.)

((maybe when we're both famous writers, we should do a panel on cooperative writing or something))

Deal!

I just read "Ishmael" and damn! I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my face, just blubbering. Everyone is so broken, but still fighting on. Powerful, powerful story. *wipes eyes

Isn't it GOOD? ((gloats Gollum-esquely and totally vicariously))

First, thanks so much for the pimp.

Second, According to LJ mistress empressvesica all Faith fics are welcome. - Indeed they are. I am only foaming-at-the-mouth rabid about one thing concerning this community - that no one get flamed or slammed for their favored 'ship. If anyone trashes someone else's work because it's not their pet 'ship - I will hurt them they will be booted. :D

Hopefully the F/X'ers won't stay in hiding. That is one pairing the community started out with none of and the lack was troubling me. Thanks again! ~EV

Noticed on Ponder's LJ that I've missed your B-Day so I drabbled (yup, I'm a drabble addict.) It's set durning Amends sn 3. hope you like.

Someone had brought over a bottle of Christmas cheer, and his Dad wouldn't say no to the Christmas spirits- or even Arbor-day spirits.

So he wandered the street of Sunnydale, surrounded by overt consumerism at its finest. Entering the hardware store, he heard a familiar snide voice.

"Look, are these the fit-inducing blinking lights or not? 'Cuz if the flickering fluorescent doesn't kill me.."

"Faith! Happy Holidays."

Dropping the box, she retorted, "What? Out without a minder?"

"That or face the family."

A shared look.

"Huh. Well hop to, Charlie Brown's on in 20. You can help string the lights."
