Because this is going to be bad.

Amazingly enough, I'm actually at work today. It's not too bad out, but we are keeping an eye on the weather and planning to go home early.

And I'm all prepped for the worst to happen, up to and including charging my weather radio.

I figure tomorrow and the rest of the week is going to be far, far worse.

I went home at noon, and even then things were starting to get hairy.

Right now, the wind is howling outside the window, and we haven't hit the height of the storm yet. Since I'm 35 miles away from the coast, the ocean surge won't be an issue for me. However, flooding just might be.

Right now, I'm as safe as I can be. There's not much else I can do.

I'm in Montreal and I'm starting to worry. The frankenstorm will have lost some of its strength overland by the time it gets here, but the weatherman tells me the it will meet another low here and hang around for days, much like the ice storm did a decade ago. Let me hope it'll at least be out of your way by then.

You're talking about a storm that's 1,000 miles across, so the odds are no.

Right now, we're looking at the height of the storm hitting us tonight, with rain being dumped on us until Thursday morning.

Yeah. Life is going to be so much fun. Especially if the power goes out.

Well,, we had a big blow last night, but the forecasts are just for rain the next few days. Some people lost power last night, but that's nothing to get excited about.

We were lucky. How about you? News from New York City isn't encouraging.
