Bird Pictures! George the Amazing Lovebird and Finchy-Face

I figured I better take pictures of Finchy-Face so I could text them to potential adoptive homes.

And then George the Amazing Lovebird got frown-y face at me, so there's a few pictures of my buddy, too.

Behold, the bird-shaped tenant...

Here's another photo...

In the meantime, George would like a few words with everyone out in Journal-Land.

And, yes, these pictures were actually taken in order, which makes it even funnier.

Just so you know?

One can never have too many toys, because toys are awesome. And they're all mine, which makes them doubly awesome...

But while I've got you here...

I think that I totally deserve more toys, because of the hell you've put me through today.

Lovebirds are so weird.

May I also suggest putting up flyers near where you found Finchy-Face? there may be an unhappy owner in the area.

Good luck with it.

He's a handsome little finch as well as being lucky! I love zebra finches; I had a male as a pet through my teens. My mother could always tell when I was on my way home from college, as he'd suddenly perk up and start his little bugling song when he heard my footsteps at the top of our road long before she could hear me.

I don't get on with lovebirds, unfortunately, as all members of the parrot family absolutely hate me with a passion on sight. I must have really pissed off the Parrot Gods in a former life or something. Even the most friendliest, non-biting budgies suddenly turn into a maelstrom of viscious claws and beak the moment I walk into the room. :-/

I don't mean to laugh at you in your time of Saga but..oh my goodness those photos of George and your commentary are priceless.

They're both just so cute! Too bad finches take so much room.

I'm kind of astonished myself. I thought a canary cage would've been plenty big enough.

When I was about 13 or 14 my Mom had a friend who raised them. Their cage was huge! She made tea for us and little sandwiches with shrimp paste and cucumbers. I'd watch the birds while Mom and she talked.

Finches are always weird - that's why Darwin liked them!

That is one cute bird:) I was at a pet store yesterday with my darling daughter and we went into the "bird room" and had some fun with the parrots, especially a very vivacious cherry-headed conure. Man, that bird had some personality.
