The Definition of Headdesking...

When you kick your own ass to find, produce, and copyedit your Remix fic to get it done by the deadline of May 9...

When you vow bloody vengeance on AO3 for loading so evilly slowly as to be impossible to deal with right under the deadline of May 9...

Only to discover that the submission deadline wasn't actually until May 16.

I should add that there's a lot more headdesking about other issues related to Remix this year, but that might give away which story is mine to the general Remix-reading public.

Also, is it me? Or does it seem like Remix isn't as much of a "community event" this year? Usually there's a lot more public whittering among participants and the remixers_lounge is usually a lot more active, especially this close to the actual posting date.

I wonder if the move to AO3 has something to do with the utter lack of anything resembling the unity I've seen in the past at Remix time.

Then again, I'm so disconnected from fandom in general at the moment due to my current job-hunting status, that there could be much groaning going on out of my sight and I'm just missing it.

Still, it makes me kind of sadface. I feel like there's now nothing but silence at a time when I'm used to at least hearing/reading some kind of conversation.

I don't have any comment on the Remix issue but I did want to tell you that I absolutely *love* your icon! It just completely sums up the feeling perfectly!

Been too busy flailing about in my head about Remix due to my not being able to get anything going with the fics by my author that I put down to do.

Naturally, after last night reading some of their other work (that I've never done but know the canon very well), I woke up this morning and the damn thing just flowed. Gah.

Remix feels less like a com to me this year too. Maybe it was the shifting dates (technical issues being no one's fault), the lack of quirky sockpuppets to hide behind or that my life's a bit spinny right now.

The upside is you can kick back knowing you've completed your task with a week to spare!
