Congrats to Washington DC

And now, from CNN, a video of the first gay couple to be married in Washington DC.

Please note: After all that nonsense last year blaming the passage of Prop 8 in California on a high black turnout, note that this video has two black women and a black minister. (True Fact: Catholics and Mormons were the driving force behind the pass-Prop 8 campaign, and don't let anyone tell you different.)

Yes. I cried got something in my eye watching this. *sniff*

Ladies and gentlemen...we're gonna win.

Between this and the MD Attorney General's decision that same-sex marriages performed in other states must be recognized in MD, we're getting closer. I think once MD businesses realize how much wedding-related revenue they're losing to the District by not allowing same-sex marriage, there's going to be a lot of added pressure.

Here we've got the Scottish LibDems calling for the opening up of marriage and civil partnerships to all couples instead of having them as separate systems for oposite sex and same sex couples as well as the UK party leader firmly behind our campaign for Marriage Without Borders. Running the petition for that at the weekend, I was very happy at how many people started to sign up before I'd finished my explanation of why it's so important.
