Quick thank you...
Ugh. I've been feeling like crap all weekend. Not sick enough to just let myself feel icky, but icky enough that I don't have any energy. Could be allergies. I used to have violent ones when I was a kid. Now fall and spring just brings on the malaise.
Oddly enough, I've been trapped writing (see? not sick enough to stay away from the keyboard).
nwhepcat's b-day story has me trapped. I actually wrote the closing scene and a few other scenes this weekend.
I never thought I'd write characters deliberately acting badly, but I am. *headdesk*
See? No wonder why I feel compulsory about the story.
It also goes a long way to explaining why I'm not sure how I actually feel about it. I'm deliberately writing people OOC because the situation I set up is so twisted that it's almost a defensive response on the part of the characters.
I'm not sure it's going to work, so I'm waiting anxiously for beta feedback on some of the parts I sent out. I feel like I'm treading on dangerous territory here. Too far, and I'm hacktacular. Not far enough, and it's nothing more but the same-old-same-old from me.
Either way, I'm not 100% sure I can post this to Living History's test list. They'll eat me alive. Then again, that just makes me want to do it even more.
Well,
bastardsnow, remember that wish you voiced when you gave me FB on the last part of Living History? You really shouldn't wish for shit like that at all because it got stuck in my head. So I blame you completely and totally for this.
Anyway, I want to give serious props for
mara_sho for running The White Knight Awards and getting the results out so quickly.
She's worked so hard to build up I Need A Parrot and to revitalize a Xander-centric corner of the Web. She's got a tough job because she's had to balance a lot of competing interests to make it work.
Anyway, congrats to all the winners! And a huge thank you to all the people who congratulated me.
Here's my results:
Winner:
Best Characterization for Living History
Runner up:
Best Overall Author
Best Overall Fic for Living History
Best Friendship for Whisper
Thank you all who voted. And thank you
mara_sho for running the awards.

feedback
And just for kicks... if you do post whatever it is, and it *does* piss them off... I will be pleased in the extreme because there's nothing like a little 'test list' anger to brighten up my day. Fun!
And also, congrats on your win/runneruppedness (is that a word?), from a voter/nominator.

I'm so sorry I've been a little neglectful about replying and keeping in touch, your support is appreciated more than you can know!
In total, there were well over 15000 votes cast which is just mind-blowing right now!
Congrats

Pish. ME portrayed them deliberately acting badly, and in a few cases (When She Was Bad), it was some of the most compelling storytelling. In other cases, such as the Dark Willow arc, it was a hairsbreadth from being an amazing storyline, only marred by the magic crack nonsense absolving Willow from any participation in her own storyline...
The villainous Vampire Willow and Hyena Xander (and the not so villainous, but definitely OOC BuffyBot) seem to be some of the most fanfic-friendly iterations of those characters. We like the bad-boys (and girls). And lets not even mention Spike, or the popular Mayor Wilkins, for whom 'deliberately acting badly' is actually in-character. :)
Heck, I had Xander willingly choose to become a vengeance demon in one of my fics, so I'm in no position to criticize...

Congrats on all your awards.
