It's snowing!

It's only mid-October and it's snowing!

This winter is going to suck.

Sorry to hear about the snow. I can't stand the stuff, luckily we rarely get any here because of the gulf stream.

Of course it means that when it snows, the entire country can be shut down by an inch or two( only a slight bit of hyperbole)

Curses! I hoped I was hallucinating what I saw out the window (Somerville) this morning :(

You're so lucky! I wish it was snowing here!

To misquote Virgil,

Nivem timeo, et dona ferentes.

As a Latin freak, I feel obligated to point out that the second part should be "et dona ferentem" because "nivem" is in the singular accusative and therefore the participle should be singular accusative. Or if you really want to paralell the original, you could say "nivis timeo, et dona ferentis".

That said, I agree completely with the sentiment. We had far too much snow where I live last year and I never wanted to see any snow at sea level again.

Yes. I noticed that after I posted it -- that Nivem was singular but Danaos was plural. Glad someone appreciated the remark, though.

Some more cheery news...

urk! Wait, where do you live that it's snowing already?!

This winter is going to suck. I fear you are right. A flist friend's cat has already grown a thick coat and has staked out a place in front of the heater another sign that this might be a long hard winter.

See, here, it's still at the point where it's a cool day if it's eighty degrees outside.

*winces*

Ugh! Last year, the city where I live had horrible problems with snow so you have my sympathy.
