I hope your fast goes easy, that your family does not become cranky with hunger, and that the food you'll be eating to break your fast will be delicious.
It goes easier with each passing year. The thirst is more of a discomfort than the lack of food. Of course, in my case that may be due to (still) significant carb reserves in ye olde waistline.
Funny. While I attend the evening Kol Nidre out of respect rather than faith, it's nice to recognize all the songs and prayers coming from the chazan and choir. Some things stick with you. Some less pleasantly than others. I still can't hear the mourner's kaddish without having some flashbacks to a...difficult series of years.
