I don't go looking for Trek fics as a general rule, but this one is hilarious.

You've got to check out How to Avoid Kicking Puppies and Other Valuable Lessons in Leadership, which is based off the re-booted Star Trek (which, yes, I saw, and yes, is awesome), while still bringing in some elements of TOS.

I giggled through the whole thing and ended with a stupid grin on my face.

Completely Gen. The newly minted Captain Kirk is finding that becoming The Man has its bumps in the road as he deals with his first command decision.

I meant to get back to you (God, my life's been way too busy...)

I actually won't be able to meet with you because my schedule is already overbooked for that weekend (not helped by the fact that I can't take the Friday before or the Tuesday after off...)

So (*wince*) I'm sorry to say I simply can't. I didn't answer right away because I was trying to find out if I could get days off so I could shift my schedule around a little bit. Sadly, works crazy busy right now, and taking time off is like yanking teeth.

No problem, I totally understand. (I've had to do the same thing.) If you do get an evening free, I'll have my laptop with me and I'll be checking email at night at least.

Hey, any recs for decent food down near the convnetion center? Or over near Fenway? (Yeah, it's a homestand with NYC, so no way am I getting tickets, but I'll be over there at least one evening.)
