Blast from the Past: Fic Nomination

Wow! Thank you to whomever nominated for the Absence of Light Awards.

The odd thing is that the nomination is for Into the Desert, which is one of the oldest fics in my Buffy fanfiction portfolio.

It never ceases to amaze me how that fic manages to continually bubble to the surface, despite the fact that it's from 2003.

Thank you again to whoever nominated me!

And, ooooo! Plaque:
Absence of Light Awards

Plus, it looks like there are some interesting stories being nominated over there. When I have time later, I'll definitely mosey on over to take a look.

Yay! Congrats! My old stuff at FFN still gets read and favorited frequently (although rarely reviewed). It's interesting that they're still finding stuff that must be buried way the heck back there, and sometimes I wish they'd leave me a note saying how on earth they found it.

You and me both. It's kind of astonishing, really.

In looking over there, it seems "Last Train to Wonderland" is tailor made for this one. I honestly wouldn't even consider "Into the Desert."

Not that I'm not grateful, because I really am. I'm just...astonished.

Have I said I was astonished, because I feel like I haven't mentioned that. *grins*

I sometimes re-read that story. Emotionally speaking, it hits me.

Congratulations! It really is wonderful when you have people finding stuff years later and still liking it that much.

I re-read "Into the Desert" and just got chills. It's dark, yes, but with a hidden optimism and hope that pays off at the end. Reminds me a little of reading _The Lovely Bones_.

I found your journal through a link for Last Tin Soldier (eagerly awaiting the final chapter!) I took a look around and you have lots of interesting things to say, so I friended you to keep track of your musings.
