Looking for serious Faith-Xander help...

Sorry I'm so scarce online this week, but I'm trying to polish up my Xander-Faith entry (or thesis paper, your pick) for [livejournal.com profile] ship_manifesto, so I'm buried under research.

Yes, some of us research this stuff. :-)

[I won't mention RL involving BFF and making what I think are decisions that will hurt her and Bug in the long run. I won't get into that fact at all because this will require screaming and yelling on my part....]

Anyway, I have icons of Xander. I have icons of Faith. I do NOT have icons of Xander and Faith in same frame. Can someone point me to someone who has these two in one icon that I can use, oh, forever? Pretty please? *bats eyes*

Also, looking for some good Xander-Faith 'ship recs (go ahead, read the last four words aloud and laugh) so I can tack it at the end of paper...I mean LJ entry.

Even though I hate ships that combine the two culprits names together, i.e. Xanya, Spuffy, Tillow...for some reason, I keep honing in on the title: "The Magic of Xanth."

One problem: I fucking hate everything Piers Anthony has written after the first three Xanth books. GGGAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

I've even dropped the Xanth books. For a while, I only got them to read the overly-long author's note at the end. (You've soured on the Incarnations of Immortality?) Right now, the only PA I'd seriously recommend to someone is "On The Uses Of Torture".

Speaking of torture:

PRETTY! THANK YOU!

Although I have to be honest: It's a shock to realize that my number one OTP is Spike-Druscilla. That says something considering I'm not a Spike Fan.

Faith-Xander does come in second, but I'm not hardcore OTP for the two of them. *grins* Unless Robin is involved...

I have some Spike/Dru icons. These are my favorites:

I feel I must protest somewhat at the fate of book 4 : Centaur Aisle. First Xanth book I ever read, and got me into the whole series. That said, the series did go downhill somewhat, on a pun-filled path of pain.

But hey! Would you prefer Fander?

I liked it up to Dragon on a Pedestal, but after that, *meh.* It doesn't help that he's admitted that he basically writes all of his novels using a computerized template. *ptooo*

Anyway, I really did like A Spell for Chameleon because it did a nice job of turning the fantasy genre on its head. I mean think about this: the "bad guy" was 100% right.

Can't actually remember the last Xanth book I read. Certainly talking several years back through. About the only stuff of his that I still take out and re-read occasionally are the Incarnations of Immortality and the Split Infinity books.

The Computerized template that he uses was set up by his daughter because he hates the evil "com-putr" Only after his duaghter set up his computer to have his formatting for books to be sent to the publisher did he start using the 'infernal machine'.

Granted I don't really follow his Xanth series that much. I much prefered Killobyte, Bio of a Space Tyrant, and But what of earth.

but on a diffrent tangent I have loved reading your "Living History" Series. I told a friend who doen's have a computer in any shape or form about it. I have been told to print off all of your story once it has been completed. I have yet to decide if I will or not. Mabey just bring him over and read it online..

I feel awful coming with this when I know you're so busy, but I really want to send out the assignments for the CyA by Friday so, be a sweetheart and send me your picks, please?

And, believe me, there's nothing like 'shipping Spawn to make you hate those names.

I always thought it was Xaith. Oh well.

I never like the shipper nicknames. The only ones I've used are Spuffy and Xanya. I prefer the old shipper IDs- B/X, W/X, B/A, etc. Bander? Xillow? Bangel? They just don't sound right. The only reason I say Xanya is because A/X is often mistaken for Angel/Xander.

Er...I still read the Xanth novels, but mostly out of sentimentality. He really fell into this 'dirty old man' mentality, I think - way too much focus on breasts and things. And the puns - way too many puns. I think I really liked them up to "Man of Mundania" and then it started getting stupid. But like I said, I still read them - sense of completeness, I guess.

I like Fandor. Sounds like a Transformer or something.

The one I came up with that I'd almost write for the excuse of using the acronym is Boltz, Buffy/Holtz.
