Why did it have to be tomorrow? WHY?!?!

I...I...I...

See, I bought these 2 tickets to see Cirque du Soliel's Kooza something like 6 months ago. Birthday present for the bro.

The show is tomorrow. The tickets for the two of us cost me...a lot of money. If you've ever paid for Cirque du Soliel tickets, I don't have to tell you how much, right? Lots. That's pretty much all you need to know.

Guess who's going to be in Manchester, N.H. tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.? Go on. Guess.

Guess who got an e-mail saying that I could reserve a seat for Manchester if I wanted to go because I volunteered to campaign in New Hampshire before the election. Go on. Guess.

*weeps quietly in the corner*

Yeah. Guess who's not going to Manchester, N.H. tomorrow.

Awwwww!!! *pets*

Personally? I would sell the Cirque tickets, but that's just me.

Ummm, they're not actually my tickets to sell. I bought them as a birthday present for my brother.

Well, damn. Sorry.

If it helps, we saw Kooza last weekend (for AHM's birthday) and it's a wonderful show.

Are you going to the matinee? Last time we went to a CdS matinee, I remember it being at 4pm....couldn't you do both?

I thought about it, but the odds of me getting back in time are pretty low if I try to go.

[Hell, I even looked at trying to get into the Concord thing tonight, but I'd have to leave at something like 2 p.m. to get to Concord by 6...]

I've seen both Bill Clinton and Al Gore up close and personal in similar venues and I can tell you that the security arrangements (not to mention the traffic) would eat up any cushion to get back and forth between Manchester and [Insert My Hometown Here].

The ride itself is roughly 1 hour 10 minutes alone (one way) — and you can add at least another 30 minutes to get to Elm Street from the highway (yup...I remember where Elm Street is...) And then, add more time because a bazillion people are going to be in the area to see Obama and Biden.

Unless they're planning to talk for only 30 minutes (which I don't think'll happen), there's there's just no way I'd be able to get back-and-forth in time. *sadness*

Give the two tickets to your brother. Let him go and take a person of his choice.

Then go to the political rally.

But I bet the Cirque show is going to be really good? I hate it when important things tumble on top of each other.

Ohhhh....I feel your pain. Impossible decision.

*hugs* If it's any consolation, I got lots of really good pictures there.

Flickr page with all of my better pics.

Hopefully Obama will be back through New Hampshire before November? I definitely want to volunteer as well, though it'll have to wait 'til after quarter's end. (Getting off at 7 - 8 pm after a ten to twelve hour day, plus working weekends, makes it more difficult to go out and canvass.)
