cubed_music is Almost Ready for Primetime
After some long and hard deliberation, I decided to go ahead and finish building the
cubed_music community and host it on LiveJournal. And believe me, I thought long and hard about hosting it on InsaneJournal instead.
However, since most of the people who've expressed interest in it are on LiveJournal, I decided to put it here.
I may consider creating a shadow community on InsaneJournal at some future date, depending on the amount of traffic the comm gets and whether I can bring aboard additional moderators to help me deal with two communities.
Please note that the security setting for
cubed_music is FRIENDS ONLY, which means you'll have to have a LiveJournal account to join and view the automatically locked posts.
I've also set the community to be a Basic Account, which means no one should be subjected to ads.
Also, please note that
cubed_music is not live yet, so please don't attempt to join the community until I throw open the doors. If you attempt to join now, I guarantee that your request is going to get lost. I get a lot of traffic around here and it happens easier than you think.
While I'm getting things into shape, please the community FAQ, and then comment back here to let me know what you think.
If you want to view the community's page, go here.
Thanks for your patience and help.

You can join up now. I'm also giving people posting access so they can post their own reviews.

However, if you cut-and-paste someone else's review to another journal or community or Web site without the original reviewer's express permission and without crediting the original reviewer, you will be summarily banned from the community without appeal.
Whoo, did it get a little warmer in here, or is it just me? ((grin))

By the by, hi, I found your journal during the strikeout, and discovered that you share some of my interests and write well, so I friended. Hope that's okay. Oh, and very nifty Zander icon.

The comm came about because I used to do CD reviews here, but thanks to the wonders of Google, the posts started getting released into the wilds of the Internet. A few of them ended up on some of the artists' discussion boards on their official Web sites (*facepalm*).
So, the move to creating a community has been a few months in coming, mostly because I figured it was a matter of time before I got in real hot water. As a result, the community is locked down to friends' only, and I've opened up posting to all members so they can post their own reviews.
I figure the more the merrier.
And please feel free to stick around. My LJ is pretty open, so all sorts of people wander on through. Thank you for friending me (I friended you back).
I still have to do administrivia on the FList since I got friend-slammed twice in the past six months (not a bad thing, just overwhelming as all hell), and I've been working on the
