Ooooh, one more thing...Cult TV

Icon gakked from...well...everyone else. One of those face-maker thingies. *looks at it*

Not sure how close I am...there really isn't hair that matches, "Are you sure you combed that?" The eyes and mouth are close. I think the face is slightly too narrow. *shrug* The coffee cup, though? Totally me. People wouldn't recognize me without it.

The following list is gakked from [livejournal.com profile] ekiedro

Have you heard about Blackadder: Back and Forth?

[identity profile] liz-marcs.livejournal.com 2004-06-02 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Heee! Meant to tell you that I got the DVD set something like four or five years ago.

The whole series, plus Back and Forth plus The Cavalier Years, plus Blackadder Christmas Carol. Oh, some extras too. No commentary (sadly).

Fry doing a riff on Prince Charles as the doomed King Charles beheaded in the Revolution? Too. Funny. For. Words.

I don't even want to spoil Queen Victoria and Prince Albert for the Christmas Carol episode. I was snorting like a pig.

Best of all, Tony Robinson does some historical background in the extras on every disc to give you an overview of each Blackadder time period.

Unh, yeah. Meant to tell you in one of my replies to your LJ.

I live in a hole. I really do.

Blackadder

It's a crying shame they never got around to doing Blackadder 5 which would have been set in the 1960's. Swinging Sixties, baby.

On the other hand, I don't think they could have topped the end to Blackadder Goes Forth. Nor do I think they should try.

That list was ganked from TV Guide as the top 25 Cult TV shows....nice...but not original..

Blackadder was bloody brilliant. I find it slightly annoying that what Rowan Atkinson is most known for in the US is Mr. Bean. Which is funny in an over the top way, but nothing beats his self-absorbed, scarcastic, scheeming Blackadder. The Christmas Carol special is one of my favorites. My husband and I still sing "If I were a piggy I'd say piggywiggywiggywig"

And have you ever seen 'The Thin Blue Line'?

Personally I think Rowan Atkinson and Richard Curtis are an unbeatable comedy team.

I'm gakking the list from you, too, cause it's fun.

Blackadder is just fantastic! Damn, what is that show good!

I wish I was British then I would write a Buffy/Blackadder cross. (Guess who's Andrew and who's Spike? ;))

what about

Are you being served or The Red Green shows?

That's classic stuff.
