Nominations? Nominations! Wheeee!

A big thank you to everyone who nominated me for the White Knight Awards.

I'm up for:

Best Overall Author along with [livejournal.com profile] nwhepcat, [livejournal.com profile] nemo_gravis, and [livejournal.com profile] xanzpet.

Xander in Africa Fic - the 'Mbuna fish' Award for Contrite Spirits.
I admit the nomination in all honesty puzzles me considering the age of the story, the fact that it only touches on Xander in Africa, and that there are better stories both nominated and not nominated in this category. Not complaining, mind. So thank you whoever nominated me. It was a very big surprise.

Best Characterization — the 'Perspective Guy' Award and Crossover - The 'How? What? How' Award for A Gift of Ordinary Magic. Again, these categories have some really, really good choices that people should check out.

Epic Fic (20 chapters or more) for Water Hold Me Down. Only two of us in this category, but I know there's more out there. Hopefully there'll be a few more noms in this one than just me and [livejournal.com profile] amejisuto. We can't be the only ones in this category.

Also, a hearty congrats to all the other authors (many of whom happen to be you guys) who've also snagged nominations.

According to [livejournal.com profile] mara_sho the nominations are open until March 19th. I know there's a lot of good Xander stories out there that still haven't been nominated, so throw some names and stories in the pot. You can't vote for 'em if they haven't been nominated.

Heh. Interesting Xander look. It comes pretty close to what I imagine Xander looks like for Facing the Heart In Darkness.

Congratulations on so many nominations. Well deserved!

You say that you're puzzled by the nomination for Contrite Spirits but don't be. I just re-read it again after encountering it when I first began reading fics on LJ. It is not only high quality writing, it is brilliantly funny! Even knowing it was coming I still giggled (in a manly way) when Xander pursuaded an entire room full of vamps to drink holy water! It's going to be hard to beat!

God Liz,

Perhaps I've read too much in it, but in my (very humble) opinion 'Contrite Spirits' is such a good story, and touches so many issues, that it is almost impossible not to include in every category. And certainly the Africa part was so much fun. I find myself rereading this particular work of yours, every 3 months or so and each time it's like I'm reading something new and diferrent. It's my favourite of your short(er) stories. So ( in spite of its 'age') I am not surprised it has been nominated. And rightfully so.

Not complaining, mind. So thank you whoever nominated me. It was a very big surprise. Er...that was my fault. I mean to enter it as "Post Chosen" and I must have clicked on "Africa" by mistake. Oops! I'll email Mara and let her know. And you know, age aside - it's a fantastic story. :)

*hugs* Thank you!

Actually, double thank you because the nom prompted me to nominate a few Africander stories that got overlooked (Ironically enough, one had already been nominated anyway, so I must've sent it in between updates.
