Post An Album Cover When You See This

Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] the_red_shoes

I remember the day my mother bought this vinyl LP from Strawberries Records and Tapes and brought it home.

It has some of my all-time favorite Blondie tracks on it. And no, it's not 'Heart of Glass.'

OMFG I adore this meme, Liz! Most of my beloved covers were lost in a flood some years ago :( We used to frame them and hang them as art, because they are.

And I was just at Strawberries this afternoon, trying to find a copy of Bonnie Raitt's Streetlights. (The cover art's not anything to write home about, but my muse needs to hear her cover of That Song About The Midway.)

Thanks for posting this. God.

Heh. Couldn't resist after my very political post earlier today.

One of my favorite albums. Not a bad track on it.

And I did own the LP, but I threw it out a while ago. I now have it on CD.

Is your favorite track "One Way or Another"? Because seriously great song.

I'm torn between '11:59' and 'Fade Away and Radiate.' It kind of depends on my mood which one's the fave.

Heh. My fave songs are generally the ones people never heard of, unless they own the album.

But, ooooo yeah, not a bad track on it.

Ooooh

Fade Away and Radiate! I used to love that song.

Also Re: Canadian Rant. I wish I knew what to do to stop our terrorist President and his little buddies. If their actions so far haven't yet warranted the impeachment of the entire administration, I don't know what will. Scary, scary times.

Dusty frames that still arrive...Die in 1955...

That song always struck me as creeptastic. I was never sure if it was someone watching tv late at night, someone who was schizophrenic, or about a serial killer.

I'm very weird like that.

As for the Canadian rant, I await our overlords.

I can't believe it's taken this long for the words "impeachment" to cross anyone's lips. I mean...damn...when you got somone hardcore like Christopher Hitchens filing suit in conjunction with the ACLU against the administration, you know things have gotten out of hand.

Strange times make for strange bedfellows indeed.

Oh my god you have no idea how much I love that album. I got it for my, gosh, 10th or 11th birthday, given to me by the daughter of my mother's friend, and I had no idea who Blondie was, but before long I was hooked. Love, love, love that album.

One Way or Another is one of my favorites, as is Fade Away and Radiate.

I almost cried when "Hanging on the Telephone" showed up recently in a telephone commercial.

I used to stand in front of the mirror trying to make my hair and expression look just like Debbie's...okay, TMI. Sorry.

*whoah*

We must be about the same age.

*checks out grey hair*

Yup. I'm a-thinkin' we are.

Actually, Blondie was actually bigger with the kids a few years older than us. Like I said, my mom bought the album just randomly because she liked 'Heart of Glass.'

I even have the Platinum Blondie collection. Yes. I'm a sad little fangurl.

Oh, I have Platinum Blondie too! It's awesome.

and now he only eats guitars. :)

I know a girl from a lonely street, cold as ice cream but still as sweet...

Great album. First one I bought for myself, ever. *g*

Leaning on your corner like a candidate for wax. Sidewalk social scientist don't get no satisfaction from your cigarette. It's 10 to 10. Time is runing out...

Blondie had some great songs. It just seemed like their best ones never made the Top 40, IMHO.

I love that album! I still have it (and on tape and CD, too).

You posting this meme led me to spend about an hour and a half looking for an image of the album cover for Some of the Best of the Bonzo Dog Band. Sure, you can find anything you want on the internet. Yeah, right.

Now, I'm going to have to go home, take out said album, take a digital picture of it, and then upload it to my LJ pic file so I can do my own album post. Of course, doing all that would have taken less than two hours in the first place, which make the 'net's failure that much more painful.

Oh, and I like your Blondie album choice, too.
