Cult TV Show Meme gakked from [livejournal.com profile] agilesreader.

Watch as I either show my age, or my geekiness. Your choice.

  • Bold means I loved it/watched it religiously/etc.
  • Italic means I liked it but did not watch religiously.
  • Regular roman letters means I didn't see it or was pretty much indifferent to it.
  • Strikeout means I have seen it but disliked it.
  • * means I added this show to the list (if you gank this from me you have to add at least one of your own, okay?)

You disliked V?

How? Why? Aaahhh!

It's a TV show meme, so she probably means the series. If so, I'm right there with her. Starchild, my ass....

*blurg* on the TV series.

The miniseries (first one) was awesome, though.

Did you know that JMS (producer of Babylon 5) wrote a script for a third "V" miniseries a long time ago? The network passed on it and it obviously never got made, but I think it would have been interesting to see if he could have redeemed the series....

OMG! I thought I was the only person in the whole universe who watched Electro-Woman and Dyna-Girl! And Invisible Man was completely awesome. I wish they'd release it on DVD.

I, Claudius. Sweet jeebus I love that show. Derek Jacobi *flails*

No Goodies? *sporkes eyes*

I don’t believe this. I actually made a sneaky sideways reference to Electra-Woman and Dyna-Girl at the end of my recent story “Phase Shift” (Parts One, Two, and Three), but I assumed that the show was so lost in the mists of history that no one would even remember it, much less get the joke. I guess I shouldn’t ever underestimate the potential geekiness of people who like Buffy as much as I do.

Would you have liked Crusade better if it had continued? I had a hard time getting invested in it knowing that it was almost certainly doomed, as indeed proved true very quickly.

[identity profile] skipp-of-ark.livejournal.com 2005-11-17 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe I'm remembering things wrong, but didn't JMS or TNT or somebody pretty much announce the decision to discontinue Crusade before any of the episodes actually aired? I recall something about TNT giving JMS too many production notes that he felt were interfering with the show, like "we need a hotshot pilot" or those hideous grey and red uniforms or something.

It's been so long ago that I couldn't say -- I just remember knowing very early on that Crusade was on its way out. Either from the very beginning or after the first few eps, but at any rate, it certainly affected my viewing of the series. Why bother getting all emotionally invested in the characters?

Although I have to say that it didn't stop me from getting very attached to the characters of Firefly in almost equally short order.
