Which I get. I do. Except that the Steampunk equipment is based on some actual designs that existed during the Victorian period. If you had a chance to look at the original stuff, why wouldn't you? If nothing else it might give you cool ideas for a new creation, right?

Then again, I admit that I may be interrogating Steampunk from the wrong perspective. *laughs*

Like I said, there was a minority geeking out over the real deal, so my eye-rolling rant is certainly not universal to all Steampunkers.
