Rich detail and excellent, in voice dialogue make this chapter sparkle. Xander and Faith's volatility is entertaining and menacing, but their light moments balance the level of tension. Xander makes an intriguing vampire. He's much cooler and calculating than his mortal counterpart, making me wonder just how far in the future this is happening. Faith is much the same as canon, though a bit more explosive. Xander seems to have little control over her, though she listens to him when it suits her.

Their complicated plan is already fascinating, and I'm left wondering where stakes, Ziplocs of vampire dust, bank books, fake identities and cash are going to lead. I'm off to find out.
