That said, I also think that Obama does represent the potential to push the dialog a little further away from a rightist-dominated discussion to something that's actually centrist with some hope for politically progressive seeds to be planted.
Or rather, I'm holding out hope for the long haul when someone with liberal bonafides could have a hope in hell of being considered a serious candidate. The key, I think, is to push the conversation in that direction.
