DS9 made me actually look forward to Ferengi stories. Can't agree with you enough on Wally Shawn!

It's ironic that you can see Nog's ultimate reason for wanting to break with Ferengi tradition (he doesn't want to end up in his father's position) used in an episode where Rom isn't acting like the Rom we will eventually have. I realize the character changed but Rom in this episode strikes a sour note for me because he's not my Rom for all the reasons you mentioned above.
