Xander being the composer of the Alex cocoon doesn't help the predicament here, though his ability to mentally break through the other constructs is heartening. The constraints he placed on himself, locking away any bright spot in his personality or psyche, makes the possiblity that Xander will be stuck this way forever even grimmer.

This was an emotional, vibrant chapter, humming with activity and conflict. This agitated, confused Alex watching the world fall apart is a wonder to read. You've created a three dimensional original character here, and you've got me very worried.

Thank you for another very entertaining chapter.
