Nice bit of French farce with the arrival of Faith and Buffy. Buffy's reaction to news that Faith had been macking on Alex was hilarious, as was Spike's "play nice" reaction. Having the exchange happening right in front of Alex' horrified realization that dangerous, evil Buffy iss right there in the room with him upped the tension and the humor in turns. The fact that each of these superheroes rescuing Alex has tried to kill him in the past had me shaking my head at Giles' stupidity.

The attention to detail, spot on characterizations and clever plotting make this story sing. Alex' naive observation of the action around him keeps surprising and entertaining me. I missed this chapter while on vacation, so I'm off to read chapter 7.
