They fumbled around with Rom for awhile. I truly adore the character but I kind of mentally scrub these early appearances. For awhile the writers didn't seem to be sure what they wanted to do with a few of the characters and Rom and Odo are prime examples.

I love comparing and contrasting Sisko at this point with the Sisko that quoted the Laws of Acquition at Quark in later seasons.

My major problem with Keiko? I found her boring. I don't know if it was the actress or the way she was written but I just didn't care about her problems. I pretty much groaned when there was a Keiko heavy episode.
