A friend of mine has suggested that migration away from lj isn't the way to go, but rather migration away from the paid stuff. Don't give lj a cent, just use 'em free, and don't use their "plus" accounts with ads in.

He's also suggested that this should be spread around the net's news media. Newspapers probably won't give it any coverage, but if there's enough publicity about it, it might actually cause lj to do something useful about it.
