The thought that this happens in my country [cause yeah, I've lived over seas all my life, even if over seas is just a stupid expression anyway], is terrifying. I grew up knowing that my phone lines were maybe tapped and that my step father could buy off the police. I liked to think the States were the land of the free and all that. While I understand why some people would think this is the better course of action [and I do], the cut of personal liberties is not something I will ever agree on. I've seen what happens. I know people who were locked in a stadium and tortured, people I thought were the kindest in the world cry of joy when Pinochet died.

May 27th. That's when Venezuela's last independent TV network will close. I may be crazy but I don't see much of a difference.
