I had to reread all the previous parts to the story before I could review this one. I realized there were a lot of details that I couldn't remember, details that seemed like they would be pretty important between any talk between Xander and Kennedy.

Yay, we finally get to see kennedy, and she is almost more messed up that Dru! I still don't know why he turned her of all people. The only thing I can think of is that he really wanted to hurt Willow for some reason. Surprised Xander didn't actually turn anyone actually close to him. there is a story there, I know it. The daddy kink was a little odd, I didn't see Xander going that way. I always figured that he would become more a twisted watcher type than anything else. That would certainly fit in with his anti-council manifestos and repeated motifs of Lies and Liars in the year he was on the run. I hope we get a lot more background on the missing year. That has to be important.

I look forward to seeing more of how the intersection between Slayer, vamp, and person work out in Kennedy's head. Child-like Kennedy is pretty much the exact opposite of how I was expecting you to go with were. The way people were talking about her, I was expecting someone a lot more devious than the lost little girl vamp that we got. That's not a criticism, more just surprised.

Buffy, Buffy, Buffy. Good for the girl for still loving her Xander shaped friend. Buffy definitely doesn't have the issues of separating soul from nonsoul. I think that might be good for Xander. Faith and Spike cannot possibly be the best people for wounded soul to spend time around. I think Buffy's optimism and love for him might actually help Xander realize that just because his heart doesn't beat anymore doesn't have to mean his life has to be over.

Dirty Buffy was definitely a shock. She sure has grown up from the girl who didn't want to fight because she might break a nail.

I wonder if Kennedy's sun shield is something that can be transfered to Xander. That little thought about how grateful he'd be made me think that actually letting him see the sun might be a key to waking Xander out of his suicidal slump.

Maybe I'm just grasping at straws, maybe I just want all the scoobies, including Xander, to get a happy ending. You don't seem like a happy ending kind of gal so I may just be tilting at windmills :)

Still, hope springs eternal.

write more soon.

Jon
