I'm reminded of a story. My parents and an aunt and uncle were visiting California and wanted to cross over the mountains to Lake Tahoe. They started out and came up on this big huge traffic jam. A highway patrolman came walking down the line, explaining that there was snow in the mountains, that you should have snow tires or chains if you're going to proceed, and you probably shouldn't. Then he noticed it was a rental car.
