Why is it somehow appropriate that Giles outlives them? Because it is... it works... he goes on collecting memories, very occasionally losing his stiff upper lip, eventually succumbing as a treasure-trove of beautiful pain. But I digress. I love this. (I know there is a structural argument for his survival... if he doesn't there's no one 'real' to mourn them... but it works beyond that level.)
