This is probably my favourite fic, as it's the only story I have ever read that has really gotten to me, the unemotional bastard that I am. ;-)
Giles' scene in Buffy's apartment, Angel's delayed eulogy, Xander and Willow's confusion and search/wandering, all perfect.
If I were to change one thing, it would be revealing that Xander and Willow had died right at the beginning. I may have had Buffy thinking "they left me" an/or "what am I going to do without them" instead; the rest of the story only hints that at death as a possibility; Xander's and Willow's story would certainly be strange if we didn't know they were dead, but it would keep us guessing (maybe they're "out of phase"? Seems a popular theme in sci-fi...).
Revealing their horizontal, subterranean status in Angel's eulogy scene where Buffy breaks down would have been a great kick in the teeth. It all comes together and makes sense in the end. ;-)
Awesome
