If anything, you've given Spike redemption - he's willing to work, to become *indeed* another man, in a way similar to Angel, yet different, so no, I can't see him bashed altogether.
Still, this is a beautiful story, and in its sadness lies its strength. I loved the ending; loved the way the two, somehow, waited for Buffy. Loved Giles, who loved them and yet was still apart. Thank you.
