Found this entry and your LJ via a web search for stuff on CC's plagiarism so I can show confused folks what plagiarism is. I'm replying to a really, really, really old post of yours b/c you mention her then-upcoming Big Publishing Debut and I'm not sure if you've stayed aware of what's going on with her 'original' (word used VERY loosely) fiction. If you have, you know how derivative it is. If not, 'derivative' is an understatement. If any creator ever decides to go after those whose works are heavily derivative of their creation and wins, CC better hope other creators don't decide to follow suit because she's a sitting duck for every single fandom she's ever taken an interest in and 'borrowed' from. On one final CC-related note, I'm sort of the 'official' CC sporker/shredder for canon_sues so if you're interested in the sporkings of her novels let me know and I'll get you the links. I'm also going to work on her next trilogy, which is set in 1878 London. I'm an English history buff so it's a mix of pleasure and agony. ;p
Your rant/essay is fabulously written and I'll be linking to it, and I'm going to friend your LJ, which I've skimmed.
