I can't speak for others, but for me it's not the problem that Xander conned Eva by setting up a fight, but that he wasted so much of (my) time and council resources with the back-story and 'who-is-me - poor endangered slayers alone in the jungle, and letting himself be used by Giles and WyndamPryce to out Eva, in stead of telling them to fix their own problems back in England. (that is, if he is that busy at all,
Also, it's part misdirected anger at the writer that's blaming Xander for fooling me with the Xander-tying to out-con the council arc, when he's been working for them all the time And me wondering if *ANYTHING* that has been told in this story has been the truth - heck, if it is even really Xander? (after all, Eva never met Xander, so it could be any old-time watcher guy with a fake eyepatch pretending to be him to fool Eva, right?)
