Unlike some, I didn't momentarily think Xander died in the ambulance - just from the way Faith was talking, it would have been different if Xander was dead. But when Xander was down on the ground being drained, I was, "Oh my God, she's really going to do it. She's going to turn Xander! No, surely she's not. She's not that evil is she? Er...."
Also loved the bit about Hayley grasping her Calling.
Really tough line to tread with the Uber!Xander avoidance. You've given him some pretty solid experienced-based skills, and some desperate-survival-against-stronger-foe techniques, and perhaps the odd lucky break in the heat of battle, which he's allowed by every literary convention because he's the central character of the story, but when he's been surrounded by two or three vampires and he's not got any element of surprise or the like, you've taken him down. Though again central characterness means he has a free rescued-at-the-last-possible-moment ticket.
